:: GUEST SPEAKER ::
We are tremendously excited to welcome Carrie Collins as guest speaker at the first MAKE:Philly meeting of 2010. Carrie is founder, entrepreneur and maker extraordinaire of Fabric Horse, a local company that designs and hand produces bike lock holders from discarded seat belts, stylish bags from recycled materials as well as a slew of other marvelous, environmentally friendly products. Carrie will give a slide presentation sharing not only how she produces her products but also how she launched her business and keeps it growing.
:: MAKER CHALLENGE ::
During the second half of this and every meeting we break into teams and build something to meet the objective of the ‘maker challenge’. All skill levels welcome. For this meeting we’re going to design and build a wearable product, as inspired by our guest speaker.
